WEGO-PGA Suture
WEGO PGA suture is polyglycolic acid suture, covering all the suture lines including absorbable sutures and non-absorbable sutures approved by ISO, CE and FDA, marketing globally under the guarantee of Product Liability Insurance since 2007.
As a leading surgical suture manufacturer, WEGO Medical employs advanced production equipment and meticulous manufacturing techniques, and also offers a variety of user-friendly packaging options, making WEGO sutures a reliable choice in surgeries.
1.Trusted Quality & Global Standards:
The high-quality surgical sutures and needles we produce are a direct result of our expertise as a dedicated absorbable PGA suture manufacturer, which leverages advanced U.S. and European equipment under a system of rigorous quality control.
2.US-Proven Needle Technology:
Our surgical needles, built on US technology and tested with the same equipment as global leaders, are benchmarked against US standards for critical performance metrics.
3.Comprehensive international certification:
All our suture products already hold both CE Mark and FDA 510K clearances. Since 2016, we have been the first and only Chinese manufacturer with a full portfolio of sutures – including absorbable surgical suture, coated polyglycolic acid suture, synthetic absorbable suture, etc. – to achieve these international certifications.

What are the chemical components of WEGO-PGA sutures? Are they safe?
WEGO-PGA sutures are a type of synthetic absorbable suture composed of 100% Polyglycolic Acid (PGA), making them a high-quality PGA suture. The suture is coated with Polycrystallochine and Calcium Stearate to enhance smoothness and tissue passage. WEGO is committed to excellence as a polyglycolic acid suture manufacturer. This dedication is reflected in our compliance with ISO9001 and ISO13485, and is further validated by prestigious certifications including CE and FDA 510K approval. The safety of this coated polyglycolic acid suture have been thoroughly validated through extensive testing.
What is the absorption time of PGA sutures? Is it necessary to remove the sutures after surgery?
WEGO PGA sutures are completely absorbed through hydrolysis within 60-80 days and do not require removal. Their tensile strength gradually decreases over time (retaining 75% strength after 14 days, 40% after 21 days), making them suitable for soft tissue suturing that requires mid-term wound support.
What types of surgeries are PGA sutures suitable for?
Polyglycolic acid sutures are suitable for general surgery, gastrointestinal surgery, urology, plastic surgery, subcutaneous and intradermal suturing, gynecology, ophthalmology, pediatric surgeries, and ligation procedures. The specific type of suture should be chosen based on the surgical site and the doctor’s recommendation.
What adverse reactions may occur after using PGA sutures? How to avoid them?
In rare cases, local inflammatory reactions may occur due to individual differences. It is recommended to confirm that the patient has no history of allergy to coated polyglycolic acid suture before surgery. Avoid excessive tension during suturing and strictly follow aseptic operation specifications. The product is sterilized with ethylene oxide to ensure sterility.
What is the difference between PGA suture and WEGO-RPGA? How to choose?
WEGO-RPGA (fast absorption type) is completely absorbed within 62-63 days, and the tensile strength decreases faster (55% after 7 days, only 5% after 21 days), which is suitable for short-term wound support (such as subcutaneous suture, dental surgery). If longer-term support is required (such as gastrointestinal anastomosis), it is recommended to choose standard polyglycolic acid suture.
How to store PGA sutures? What is the shelf life?
The product should be stored in a dry, light-proof, room temperature environment, avoiding high temperature or humidity. The specific shelf life should refer to the packaging label (usually 3-5 years). Unused sutures after opening should be disposed of in accordance with medical waste regulations.
